William Thompson was born in Cambridgeshire in 1991.

His poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Poetry Wales, Stand, Bad Lilies, Wild Court, Acumen, The Interpreter’s House and elsewhere.

He holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Bristol and has taught at Sciences Po Grenoble and the University of Picardy.

He is co-editor of the digital poetry journal Yield.

His debut pamphlet After Clare (2022) is published by New Walk Editions.
